From a childhood interest in drawing and modeling animals and figurines out of clay, he has developed a self-taught talent of sculpting bronze and pewter in miniature. Ben oversees each step of the molding and casting process, converting his original sculpture from a fragile clay or wax creation to a permanent heirloom quality sculpture in fine handcrafted pewter.
His sculptures have been commissioned and designed for many corporations and organizations, including former presidents Reagan, Ford and Carter, several universities across the country, and wildlife conservation groups including Ducks Unlimited. His art is also found in many private collections today and is on display at WestPoint and Annapolis. Ben's attention to detail and form results in a sculpture that "tells a story" while bringing a smile to the faces of collectors of his unique works of art.
The artistic collaboration between noted dog show judge and artist, Denis Springer, and Ben Cordsen has given rise to a detailed collection of breeds in artistic poses while being anatomically correct in all regards.
